Admissions organizes several on-campus events throughout the year, offering faculty unique opportunities to engage with prospective students and their families. These events allow you to showcase the vibrant academic community and help inspire the next generation of UC Merced students.
In addition, the Enrollment Management Communications team welcomes your ideas for highlighting the academic experience on campus. Whether through photography, filming, or live webinars, we’re eager to feature your research and academic initiatives to give prospective students a glimpse of the innovation happening at UC Merced.
Signature Events
Experience UC Merced
When: Late - January - April
Where: UC Merced Campus
This program invites prospective students to attend a campus tour and sit in on a UC Merced class to experience the classroom environment firsthand. Faculty participation is key to making this program impactful, as it offers scholars a unique glimpse into life as a Bobcat. Your involvement can play a significant role in shaping their decision to choose UC Merced.
How you can help:
Faculty can volunteer to allow students to visit their classes. Campus tours can work with you on the logistics of any classroom visit, including protocols and guides to avoid class disruption.

Bobcat Day
When: Saturday, April 19, 2025
Where: UC Merced Campus
Audience - Admitted students, prospective students and their families
Bobcat Day, a yearly event for both prospective and admitted students, will showcase the UC Merced campus to over 5,000 visitors. Attendees will hear from various campus resources, engage with student clubs and organizations, and go on a campus tour.
How you can help:
If your department is interested in hosting mock lectures, facility tours or a reception on Bobcat Day, please complete the following form by March 7, 2025.
We will share the room locations for lectures and receptions and send a calendar invitation to the point of contact by March 21, 2025.

Marketing Ideas and Opportunities
When: Year Round
If you are interested in working with our EM marketing team to explore filming/photographing a research experiment or classroom activity, exploring filming a live research webinar or being a guest on the Admissions Marketing Podcast, please complete the form and someone from our team will follow up with you.
We are interested in hosting a live webinar with faculty leading a research experiment. An evening timeslot would be ideal.

Commencement
When: Fall and Spring
Join the Commencement Squad, and help make a memorable experience for our graduates and their guests. Your assistance is needed with this year's Commencement ceremonies. With multiple Commencement #SquadGoals, we will have a variety of Commencement Squad roles – ensuring our graduates are ready in their caps, gowns and stoles.
