When to Apply
In light of the recent natural disasters across the state, and to ensure that interested students have a fair opportunity to submit their applications, UC Merced has extended the fall 2019 application deadline to Dec. 15, 2018 for freshmen.
You can start to work on your fall admission application on Aug. 1. The priority filing period is Nov. 1-30. More application dates and deadlines are on the University of California Admissions website.
The nonrefundable $70 application fee entitles you to apply to one UC campus. The fee for international students is $80. Fee waivers are available to students who qualify.
Qualifying for a Fee Waiver
The University of California will waive application fees for up to four campuses for qualified students who otherwise would be unable to apply for admission. Students who qualify for fee waivers and who select more than four campuses must pay $70 for each additional campus choice. To be accepted for the fee waiver program, you must meet specific requirements related to your family income and size.
You can apply for a fee waiver within the online application and be notified immediately whether you have qualified.
