Pass The Paw Official Rules - Fall 2023
ENTRY: No purchase necessary to enter or win. The entry period begins on October 2, 2023 and ends on October 9, 2023 at 12:00pm. All times are listed in Pacific Daylight Time. Participants must enter giveaway via the social media outlets with appropriate prize posts corresponding to that week's instructions.
ELIGIBILITY: This contest is open to anyone over the age of 13. Only UC Merced students who are currently enrolled for the Fall 2023 semester are eligible to win prizes. Employees of UC Merced are not eligible to enter. Winner must provide their UC Merced email address and ID number in order to claim their prize. Void where prohibited by law. Contestants residing in those areas where the contest is void may participate in the contest but may not win any prizes.
WINNER SELECTION METHODOLOGY: ONE winner will be selected using the following methodology, based on entries received:
Participants should:
1. Follow the @RufusBobcat Instagram account
2. Tag a friend
3. Include #PassThePaw in the comment
The participant who meets the entry requirements will be chosen at random and awarded a prize pack.
The name of the winner will be posted on the corresponding social media outlets.
PRIZES: Winner will receive one prize pack. Should a winner choose to forfeit their prize, another winner will be selected in their place.
5. WINNER NOTIFICATION: Winner will be notified via their UC Merced email address within 14 days after the determination date. Inability to contact a winner, or failure of a winner to respond after seven (7) days of initial contact may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. If a winner is selected and it is found that they do not meet eligibility requirements to win a prize, it may result in the disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Winner must show proof of their UC Merced student status in order to claim their prize. This can be attained by correspondence via their assigned UC Merced email address.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: Participants hereby grant UC Merced a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to broadcast, publish, store, reproduce, distribute, syndicate, and otherwise use and exhibit the entry (including their names, voices, likenesses) in all media now known and later come into being for purposes of trade or advertising without further compensation. Participants represent and warrant that they have full legal right, power and authority to grant UC Merced the foregoing license and if applicable, have secured all necessary rights from any participants in, and contributors to, their Submission in order to grant such a license.
USE OF CONTEST INFORMATION: All entries become the property of UC Merced. UC Merced reserves the right to use any and all information related to the contest, including submissions provided by the contestants, for editorial, marketing and any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
NOT ENDORSED BY INSTAGRAM, TWITTER, OR FACEBOOK, (herein referred to as “the outlets”): By participating in this contest, you acknowledge that this contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, “the outlets” and release “the outlets” from any and all liability arising from or related to this contest. The information you are providing for this contest is being provided to UC Merced and not to “the outlets”, and will be used to notify you if you have won.
CONDUCT: All contest participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. UC Merced in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person it finds to be tampering with the entry process, the operation of its web site or is otherwise in violation of these rules.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: UC Merced is not responsible for late, lost or misdirected email or for any computer, online, telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur. If for any reason, the contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort, UC Merced may cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest. Entrants further agree to release UC Merced from any liability resulting from, or related to participation in the contest.
